Thomas W. Gilbert, AIA, REFP, presented to the Neumann University students enrolled in the Superintendent’s Leadership Course EDU 777. Adjunct Professor William N. Kiefer, Ed.D., retired administrator with the Cheltenham School District and retired U.S. Army Brig. General, teaches the Doctor of Educational Leadership Program. Dr. Kiefer has brought many future school superintendents to Gilbert Architects’ Corporate office over the past decade for a first-hand look at the partnership and responsibilities between the architect and the school district to successfully navigate through a construction project.
After giving an overview of the design and construction process, Tom presented a case study of the Downingtown S.T.E.M. Academy and the Abington Senior High School design process. Participants feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
