Meet Ericka Sepulveda-Adorno, one of our talented BIM Modelers! Ericka comes to us excited and passionate about the field, having joined our team in June 2024. Since then, she’s brought great ideas and energy to our business. We’re excited to shine the spotlight on Ericka and learn more about her!
Q: What’s your job title, and what do you do day-to-day?
A: A BIM (Building Information Modeling) Modeler. I create, manage, and maintain digital 3D models of buildings.
Q: What got you interested in the field?
I’ve been interested in architecture since I was a child. I grew up in New York City, and I loved all the details of the buildings and structures — especially those that are in the gothic revival style. St. Patrick’s Cathedral is my favorite. It’s so intricate and detailed.
Q: What’s your favorite part about your job and our company culture?
A: My favorite part of the job is learning new things every day. Our company’s culture, in my eyes, is trust, growth, equality, and flexibility.
Q: What’s your favorite project or achievement?
A: My biggest achievement so far is receiving my associate’s degree in architecture this past spring.
Q: What does an ideal weekend look like for you?
A: An ideal weekend for me is to rest, listen to music, read a book, and relax.
Right now, I’m reading a couple of books: Dark Feminine Energy by Samantha Jane Graham; Yemaya: Orisha, Goddess, and Queen of the Sea by Raven Morgaine; and Sacred Geometry by Bernice Cockram. I try to read one chapter of each book every night.
Q: What’s the best trip you’ve ever been on and why?
A: The best trip I have been on so far is a Carnival Cruise with my family. We went to a couple of islands — Puerto Rico, Grand Turk, and the Dominican Republic. I loved the beaches — the clear water, white sand, and nice wind. It was great to spend quality time with my family in a different environment. We also got to visit my extended family who lives in Puerto Rico.
Q: What’s your favorite food?
A: My favorite food is “farina”, but my mom has to make it! It’s cream of wheat and is very similar to oatmeal. You mix it with milk, salt, and sugar. It’s really comforting and brings back memories of my childhood.
Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given, or your favorite inspiring quote?
A: The rest of your life is being shaped right now with the dreams you chase, the choices you make, and the person you decide to be.
