Dr. Antonia Pantoja School No. 27

The new 116,000 s.f. Pre-K to 8 school for 750 students was constructed on a 2.4-acre urban site for the School District of Elizabeth, New Jersey. Sub-grade parking for 80 parking spaces was planned under the building for staff and visitors. This 3-story structure was designed to separate the age groups by providing Pre-K and Kindergarten grades on the first level, grades 1–5 on the second level, and grades 6–8 on the third level. Separate play areas were also provided on-site for the three age groups.

The cafetorium and gymnasium are at street level so that they can be used by the public after school hours. The media center is located on the second floor and science, art, music, and technology rooms are on the third level to support the 6–8 program.
